Kralendijk April 24th, 2023 – The Board of Directors of the Water – en Energiebedrijf Bonaire (WEB) was informed of a serious traffic accident on the road to Rincon, on Saturday, April 22nd, in which a WEB company vehicle was involved. An internal investigation into this accident is currently underway. The Management Board will take appropriate measures internally with regard to this matter, if the unsafe traffic on site was due to the way in which this company vehicle participated in traffic.
WEB’s company regulations include, among other things, that driving under the influence of alcohol and/or other intoxicants is not permitted.
The Management is aware of its responsibility in this regard, and more effective preventive measures will be taken to make our people more aware of safe participation in traffic with company vehicles, and as such to prevent accidents as much as possible.
The Management offers its sincere apologies to the community of Bonaire for this accident.
