Kralendijk, July 1, 2024 – The Supervisory Board of Water – en Energiebedrijf Bonaire (WEB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Raymond (Roy) Silberie as the new Chief Executive Officer of WEB Bonaire N.V.
Mr. Silberie, born and raised on Bonaire, earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Netherlands Antilles in 1995. After completing his education, he began his career at WEB Bonaire N.V., where he held various leadership positions at both operational and management levels. In August 2020, he joined ContourGlobal (CGB), the energy producer on Bonaire, as COO for CGB Bonaire and the French Antilles. In January 2022, he returned to WEB Bonaire N.V. as an Internal Business Advisor, a role in which he advised the Management Team and the Board, and was responsible for strategic studies and utility plans.
With nearly 30 years of experience, Mr. Silberie brings a deep understanding of WEB’s strategy and future goals for sustainable energy and water development. In both good and challenging times, he has made a significant contribution to the success of WEB Bonaire N.V. and possesses extensive knowledge and experience in the utilities sector, particularly in electricity, drinking water supply, and wastewater treatment.
Mr. Silberie is not only familiar with our corporate culture but also with the unique needs and opportunities within our community.
The Supervisory Board and the management of WEB Bonaire N.V. are delighted to welcome Mr. Raymond Silberie as CEO of WEB as of July 1, 2024. The Board and management believe that with the appointment of Mr. Silberie, WEB will have a highly skilled and connecting CEO. This appointment restores the three-member Management Board of WEB Bonaire N.V. to full strength. The Board congratulates WEB on this appointment and wishes Mr. Silberie much success in his new position.
