Kralendijk, 27 March 2025 – Bonaire is growing rapidly, and as a result, the demand for electricity is increasing. More homes and businesses require a stable and reliable power supply. Water – en Energiebedrijf Bonaire (WEB) takes its responsibility and continues to invest in the future. That is why an expansion of the distribution capacity, at the site called WEB Nobo, will be put into operation between March 31st and April 4th .
What does this mean for Bonaire?
WEB Nobo ensures that there is sufficient electricity distribution capacity on the island. This project, which took almost two years to prepare and complete, is now ready to go into operation and guarantee electricity supply in the future. For WEB it is important to inform its customers about work of this nature.
No power outages expected
After a careful risk analysis, WEB does not anticipate any power outages.
To put WEB Nobo into operation some technical adaptations must be made to the WEB Nobo site. Every effort is made to ensure that this does not cause any inconvenience to customers.
In the event of an unexpected situation, WEB is ready to act quickly and keep any possible interruption to a minimum duration.
